Global Table Soccer Organization

What Our Plans Are...

First, our financial budget is very limited. So the GTSO itself probably won't be organizing large tournaments with lots of price money in the near future. What we do relies heavily on the volunteer work offered by our members, and that means you! The more table soccer players are willing to participate in our efforts, the more is possible!

The following is a list of things we are currently planning or are already in the process of doing:

  • When organizing a tournament, or a tournament series, it's good for you if you can promote it as "Part of the offical GTSO world tournament series". For that reason, we will work out proposals for the naming of differnt tournament sizes/categories, and give you the opportunity to use GTSO and our logo in the promoting of your tournament.
  • Similarly, for ranking lists: While we don't want to force anyone to use a specific ranking system, all tournaments with the label "GTSO" could be counted in a common ranking system. We also could help you improve your own ranking system, or share our experience and software for ranking systems with your organization.
  • We plan to establish a comman tournament calendar, to help minimize conflicts between different tournaments, and to help promoting your tournaments.
  • We want to build a rules commission to propose a standard rule set. Of course, as it's our philosophy not to force something on our members, you can still play your tournaments by your own preferred rules; our rules commission will only make proposals.
  • ...more to come!

...And How You Can Help!

First, it would be great if you and your organization would become a member of GTSO. There is no membership fee involved, it's just a matter of filling out our membership form and sending it to us. Read more about that, and why you would even wish to become a member of GTSO, in the section "How To Join".

We need as many members as possible, because this is very important in public relations—talking to potential sponsors and to the media, the more members you have, the more likely they are to listen.

Because assemblies, voting and such would be very complicated if we would accept single, individual players as members, we currently require our members to be organized in some form (read the specific requirements in the section "How To Join"). But we try to be as liberal as possible: your organization can be small or large, you don't have to pay anything, we don't require many formalities, we accept more than one member per country, we don't require you to give up anything of your freedom and independance in playing and organizing table soccer tournaments! (I have to say that, because we know there are other organizations who do require you to give up a lot to join them).

Second, if you want to help us by doing practical work (e. g. in the different commissions working on ranking systems, rules proposals and such, or by helping to write the missing documents (large parts of the statutes are still in an early draft stage), or by doing public relations stuff, ...)—please contact us at info@gtso.org; we have an interactive collaboration tool specifically meant for community work; you can participate in that after I make an account for you.
